oaqk formed in the year 2002.
They utilize echoes, acoustics, noise, clashing sounds, as well as thundering notes into their music. With their instrumental sound they are able to convey a contrast between stillness and motion
When they were a young band, they would often get together with OVUM and several bands to present “amber dawn” an only instrumental event.
In 2007 they experimented with more events by getting up to 11 bands, where each band would hand out free CDs of their music. oaqk handing out 3,000 copies of their free CD.
Same year in November at their 2nd event in Tokai Region in Japan, they ended up handing 5,000 copies of their free CDs.
In 2008 their events got so big that they were handing out 10,000 CDs.
Their reputation grew to the point that they were opening acts for reputable foreign bands such as "KINSKI", "BELLINI" and "SHIPPING NEWS". Recently they have played with "Adebsisi Shank", "Saxon Shore" and have received high marks.
In 2005 they released a song in a compilation on MONO's label Human Highway Records called "THE MIXING OF LANDSCAPE". They have released 2 EPs and participated in 2 compilation albums.
